Book Description
This IDC study examines technology use and spending among firms with under 100 employees, as they implement and support home page and ecommerce activity. The Internet continues to transform the way small businesses operate. Just five years ago, only about one-quarter of small businesses with PCs had Internet access. Today, that share is almost four our of five. While communications remain at the heart of Internet use, online sales and promotion activity is driving more small business investment than ever before. According to Raymond Boggs, IDC vice president, Small Business and Home Office Research, "The expansion of online access among small firms is changing the way that they reach customers and prospects." Boggs noted that small business spending on Web hosting alone is growing by almost 15% annually and will top $8.1 billion by 2007.
