About the Author
Larry Chiang was founder and CEO of MoneyForMail, one of the most visited sites on the Internet. He is a credit industry / privacy expert and has testified in Congress on the topic of Internet Marketing.

His first start-up was United College Marketing Services (UCMS), #1 in credit card sales to students, which is a multi-million dollar force in the credit industry. He started it in his dorm room at University of Illinois in 1989 while studying engineering because he saw a need to credit educate young adults. When he left the company in 1996, it had educated 16 million students. Mr. Chiang champions consumer privacy/credit rights by putting ideals into practice. First, of course, at UCMS, a credit card company that provides credit education. His companies have been featured on ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and CNN. He has been profiled in 44 of the top 50 newspapers in America including NY Times, Wall Street Journal and numerous cover pages like USA Today. Larry's hobbies include reading, coaching young entrepreneurs and playing "pick-up" basketball.

Reader review(s):

Not impressed by it, August 20, 2002
I disagree with Mr. Chiang on consumer marketing. If it was that easy, then everyone would be millionaires!! It's nice that he's been defending the privacy issues on behalf of us, but it has not worked. I understand that he's the credit expert, perhaps it is for his own gain and publicity rather than helping others. So get off your high horse Larry, because you ain't that impressive.

Great Info, Quick Read, October 18, 2001
I was impressed by how much valuable information this book packed into 90 pages. Not only does the book provide great information for anyone seeking to develop successful Web-based businesses, but this information is also incredibly relevant to developing effective non Web-based marketing programs directed toward consumers. In particular, the Consumer-Centric Marketing and Clients Forever sections provide excellent insight on increasing marketing ROI by involving the consumer in marketing programs. I highly recommend "Internet Marketing Secrets" as an concise overview of leading edge thinking in marketing through the Web and other channels.
